Pathfinder Solutions is a progressive, growing and profitable software technology and expertise transfer company. We are looking for experienced, effective, and motivated software developers to help develop our PathMATE MDD automation environment, and ultimately to join our elite mentoring team. With a focus on expertise transfer - not contract development - we introduce proven agile, model-based and test-driven techniques and technology to critical customer projects building complex, high-performance systems. If you see yourself as the champion for "a better way", get satisfaction from helping others succeed, and are happiest when attacking the biggest challenges head on, then join others like yourself and help our customers achieve sustained success.

This position starts with product development on the PathMATE code generation and MDD automation environment with extensive work in Java, Eclipse, Rational model technologies, Microsoft Visual Studio, and other leading software engineering technologies. Once you've had training and hands on experience with our Platform-Independent Model Driven Development (PI-MDD) methodology, you will grow to contribute to customer projects as a PI-MDD mentor helping them master agile, model-driven and test-driven approaches.

The ideal candidate has:
  • Exposure to effective software architecture in a "real-world" team environment
  • Solid problem space modeling skills and other abstraction techniques
  • Worked with object oriented architectures and techniques, including C++, C# and Java
  • Experience with configuration management and version control
  • Familiarity with software engineering technologies including Eclipse and Visual Studio
  • Done embedded systems development, including performance optimization and C/C++ programming
  • Exposure to agile methods and automated test driven processes and technology
  • Exposure to model driven development, especially code generation-based approaches and UML modeling
  • Experience effectively using onsite and offsite collaboration techniques and technologies.

The ideal applicant is looking for:
  • The opportunity to help customer projects quickly and effectively adopt new techniques and technology, and ultimately achieve sustainable success.
  • A small, successful and focused company, with a core value of bringing true value to the customer.
  • Emphasis on actions and accomplishments
  • An opportunity to learn emerging techniques and technology from seasoned experts, and then share them with customers.
  • A streamlined and agile team structure, with low bureaucratic overhead and high flexibility including opportunity for work-from-home.
  • An opportunity to help shape and deliver a vital and successful product.

Initial orientation is in Wrentham MA and Marlboro MA., Development assignments are home-office based. Mentoring assignments have a blend of onsite and home-office-based work, with 1099 and W2 positions available. Customer locations are primarily in Eastern MA, Dallas TX and Denmark, and will vary. Compensation and benefits are competitive, including premium health insurance, flexible paid time off, and 401K with match.

All candidates must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, 0 to 3 years of postgraduate software engineering experience and exposure to large team projects. US citizenship is required.
